AsciiDoc Syntax
Keyboard Macro
Here are the current (2026) docs for AsciiDoc keyboard macro. As of 2026, it covers examples of application/GUI programs keyboard shortcuts, but nothing related to keybindings and keymaps for editors like Vim, Emacs or IDEs in general.
The docs mention one kbd:[] macro per keys which are pressed together, like kbd:[Ctrl+Shift+N] (which renders as Ctrl+Shift+N) to open a new incognito application window (like in Firefox).
Note the use of N in uppercase, and Ctrl and Shift.
But editors and IDEs also have the concept of sequences of keys, like a combination of “chords” and arpeggios mixed or followed with single keys, and their own documentation and communities have their own idioms for describing keyboard-related stuff.
Let’s cover some examples.
